Blue Cheese & Herb Smear

 

Smear any of your favorite grilling steaks with this tasty topper... A fusion of blue cheese, butter and fresh herbs this is the perfect finishing touch for any steak!

 

 

Ingredients: 

1/3 cup blue cheese crumbles

3 tablespoons butter, salted, room temperature

1 tablespoon prepared horseradish sauce

1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme

kosher salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions:

1. Combine ingredients in a small bowl and stir until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Bring to room temperature 1 hour before serving.

 

2. Once your steak is done on the grill, place on a platter and immediately smear the side that was most recently on the grill with your Blue Cheese and Herb Smear.

 

3. Allow steak to rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the steak's juices to redistribute and the smear to melt into the steak.

 

4. Serve your steaks sliced across the grain with fresh grilled vegetables (asparagus, summer squash, zucchini) for a complete meal.

 

Cook’s Tip: Feel free to substitute in your favorite fresh herbs. Oregano, parsley and tarragon are all ways to give this great steak topper a totally different flavor!
